Title & Purpose

Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble:

for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand, Joel 2:1.

The Cruel Mercies of the Wicked

Richard Dawkins has been in the news again in recent days. This time being challenged about comments he made last year [August 2014] about children with Down Syndrome.

Dawkins became embroiled in Twitter row, when responding to another user who said she would be faced with "a real ethical dilemma" if she became pregnant and learned that the baby would be born with Down Syndrome.

Dawkins tweeted in response: "Abort it and try again. It would be immoral to bring it into the world if you have the choice." A strange sense of morality indeed!

The father of a child with Down’s Syndrome recently challenged Dawkins over these comments on the BBC Radio Ulster’s Talkback programme. Click on link to read article.

Belfast Newsletter - Father of Down’s Syndrome child challenges Richard Dawkins on air

Dawkins orginal comments are a reminder of the truth found in Proverbs 12;10 …the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel

Dawkins' rationale for aborting children with Down Syndrome is supposedly to lessen suffering. Yet how cruel a thing to end the life of a child just because it will be born with a disability. How hypocritical, and grotesquely cruel, for society to promote the rights of the disabled while at the same time permitting their death in the womb!

Yet this is the outcome of atheistic, evolutionary thinking.
