Title & Purpose

Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble:

for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand, Joel 2:1.

Steve Chalke & 'The Lost Message of Jesus'

Further to J. Trimble's comment on a previous posting about Steve Chalke coming to Carnmoney Presbyterian Church [scroll down to page six of their Announcement Sheet] here are some interesting links that highlight his unbelief:

The Lost Message of Jesus is no message at all! - Answers in Genesis

Don’t take your cue from Steve Chalke - Takeheed Ministries

How much longer can those who profess to be born again believers remain in a Church that associates with those who deny the biblical account of creation, the Fall & the penal nature of Christ's atonement for sin?

The words of Obadiah the prophet come to mind:
In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them, Obadiah v11.

To say and do nothing when a man who teaches these errors visits the church of which you are a member or an elder is to condone his error!

After much exposure of Steve Chalke's denial of the Gospel, his event in Carnmoney Presbyterian Church has now been cancelled according to one of the elders in the church.

Unfortunately the jellyfish of a minister of that church, hadn't the decency to reply to my email I sent him a few weeks ago.

This is a great relief and a cause of Rejoicing. Just a few months back
old Mossley was afflicted by anj Alpha course organised by them. A witness was held by two of us on the opening night. It is sad that so many are gullible and unwilling to test the spirits in our community.

Hello, I got hold ofhis book to check out what he says. I saw nothing there that conflicts with the Creation at Gods hand, that the cross was an atonement for sin in the nature of a substitutionary sacrifice, or anything to make a born again spirit filled beleiver concerned. What he did do was leave the hell and brimstone at the door and present the truths of Jesus in a sound exegetical light relevant to contemporary culture- just as Jesus did in his own teachings. His focus on the love and acceptance of Gods grace can surely only reinforce the message of redemption Jesus and the early church espoused-repent for He first loved us. The lack of real love made visible to the lost and fallenis noe reason why the Spirits work is so often stifled in churches, as it seems it was on this occasion. I think his comments on page 173 of the secret gospel of Jesus explain that clearly.
Grace and peace.

The Alpha Course has started again in Corr's Hotel. Three churches involved this year are Carnmoney Presbyterian, Whitehouse Presbyterian and Light and Life Church (formerly Free Methodist Glengormley). On "launch night" last week, what people saw as a "worship leader" was singing actual rock songs and having a smoke at the interval. One lady approached Rev Dickinson apparently and told of her disgust to which the reply was "you are living in the old testament". Light and Life have since pulled out of involvement with this apostasy.
