A portrait of the unrepentant terrorist Martin McGuinness has been unveiled at Stormont, one day after the anniversary of the former deputy first minister's death. It will hang in the same corridors as a painting of former Northern Ireland first minister Ian Paisley.
McGuinness's family attended the unveiling along with unionist leaders such as Peter Robinson and Arlene Foster.
It is even more grieving when unionist leaders join in with this eulogising of an unrepentant terrorist and defend their attendance. It is little wonder unionism is in such a sorry state when it is led by those so lacking in principle.
Stephen Gault, who was injured himself in the Enniskillen bombing which also killed his father has said he is “
sickened by the glorification” of former IRA commander Martin McGuinness.
