The Office of First Minister and Deputy First Minister [OFMDFM] have announced a Sexual Orientation Strategy consultation which is set to begin next week and is designed to run for 12 weeks. For further information see
here.
It is worth stating that according to the Word of God sin has no rights. None at all! In fact the opposite is the case. Sin is to be punished and at times the perpetrator to be shunned and avoided. Sadly, this rule is applied in an ever diminishing number of cases. Even murderers are now welcomed into government with open arms in our society!
There are basic human rights that are common to all mankind. For example, the right to life; the right to fair and equal treatment before the law; the right of religious freedom and expression; innocent until proven guilty is another fundamental right; there are civil freedoms which are basic rights. These are just a few of the most obvious 'rights' that a human being is entitled to.
One area where no 'rights' exist is in the area of sin. No one has the right to sin. No one has the right to insist that their sinful way of living must be given special consideration and special treatment. It is the duty of the civil power in any nation to uphold, defend and promote public morality. If this is faithfully done then there will no special 'rights' given to sinful lifestyles.
Much of want passes for 'Human Rights' today is a travesty of the term. Many of those who agitate for 'human rights' are liberals by way of social policy. By 'Human Rights' they mean license to live as you want and to have special consideration given, and accommodation made, for the grossest and most sinful forms of living.
Civil rulers are to be: 'minister[s] of God to thee for good'. Those who practice evil are to be afraid: But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid, Romans 13:4. How unlike modern society this is. The opposite is so. We live in a day when evil is called good and good is called evil. The Scriptures contain a warning regarding this: Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20.
There is a simple reply to the First Minister and Deputy First Minister's Sexual Orientation Strategy consultation - Sin has no Rights!!!
