Title & Purpose

Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble:

for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand, Joel 2:1.

I'm unclear . Some Christians tell me that all I need to do is believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose again, in order to be saved. Others tell me that I need to believe this AND repent... Which are right? How can I have assurance? I know that Christ died for my sins and is alive, I know I have experienced the new birth, because my life is changed. But how can I be really sure I've repented properly if this is a requirement? Thank you.
