Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble:

for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand, Joel 2:1.

The Most Dangerous Minister of All!

Please listen to this excellent and timely sermon preached by Pastor Ralph Ovadal, minister of Pilgrims Covenant Church, in Monroe, Wisconsin, on who is the most dangerous minister of all.

Good aspects to this sermon, but was let down by its vagueness. He was obviously implying someone in particular. Who do you think he was speaking about? Also by his own conviction should he not have named them?

Hi

If you endorse of the contents of this message, does this mean that you will be coming out of a denomination where your fellow ministers and elders go to ecumenical services? (such as the ones you and Rev Ivan Foster reported on)

For surely, according to this sermon, these men are the 'most dangerous ministers', and you are in fellowship with them?

Maybe naming them would have taken away from the point that is being made. People would then have concentrated upon the personality rather than the issue at stake. Which is often the case!

However, you are welcome to take the point up with Ralph Ovadal. I am sure he will explain why he did what he did!

I am more than happy to discuss the points you raise. In the interests of fairness maybe you could give your proper name. At least then I know who I am answering!
It was a principle of Roman justice, never mind Biblical conduct, that the person accused at least knew who his accuser was, cf. Acts 25:16.

He is speaking vague so as not to have to make the reference to a particular person. In my opinion he is talking about Joel Beeke. Since Ovadal feels this way in his heart, why doesn't he just come out and say it? It is cowardly of him to produce this broadcast and not "cut to the chase" with regard to who is talking about.

Maybe it because that if he did name Joel Beeke the sermon would be taken down from Sermonaudio as has happened with a previous broadcast!

It has already been taken off SermonAudio. It was merely a re-hash of the garbage that came out in June 2012. Ralph should spend more time in the efforts of building his own church. Beeke is a good man and this is nothing more than Ovadal trying to divide the church.

If there was nothing wrong with associating with these individuals then why did Joel Beeke say that he had been deceived by these people and that he would now break all links with them?

Secondly why has he not done so?

I don't know what he said or did not say. I dont know why he apologized at all. He was selling his books and giving tours at Refo500. Refo500 is a historical commemoration of the reformation in Europe. I am glad his books are on the shelf. I am glad he is giving his perspective on the reformation. I am sure there are few there that have a correct perspective. Thankfully he does! As JC Ryle said of Whitefield "if the Pope himself would lend him his pulpit, he would gladly proclaim the righteousness of Christ in it." This is the same attitude we should have. Praise God for Beeke and his ministry!

The problem is that you are not comparing like with like nor addressing the issue.

Joel Beeke is sharing platforms with those who praise the Pope, feminists and such like and writing on his Blog about the wonderful times of fellowship. For what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 2 Cor 6:14. He's not merely there giving his perspective as you claim.

Secondly he stated to friends in Northern Ireland that he was breaking all links with Refo500. He offered the excuse that he had linked himself with Refo500 while not realising its true character. That begs the question why say this if there was nothing wrong with this organisation? Why tell people he had broken his links with Refo500 when he hadn't? Why go back on his word?
