Truth Stranger Than Fiction

A photographer has imagined what the city of Dubai would look like following a financial meltdown. With the streets and resorts devoid of human life and all building work halted, all that remain are the animals who are left to roam the crumbling remains of the former urban paradise and pearl of the United Arab Emirates, a gulf state that was until 30 years ago dominated by nomads.

However truth may seem stranger than fiction!
The Bible records that the time will yet come when the city of Babylon, among others, will be left like this:
Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon….
Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.
As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein, Jer 50:34,39,40
.

The attempt to build an alternative system without acknowledging the Lord, which was left off will be recommenced, Genesis 11:1-9. Babylon will yet be restored to become the world's commercial centre and the city of Antichrist, Zechariah 5:5-11; Revelation 18:1-24.

This rebuilding and re-emergence of Babylon will be characterised by gross wickedness, Revelation 17:1-18

It is the midst of it sinful glorying it will suffer the judgment of God. It will be left desolate, Jeremiah chs 50&51; Revelation 18:1-24
