Why we oppose offensive play: "The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged)"

  1. A very good sermon as always Rev McClung. I have noted claims by some, and which was also included in your sermon that this diabolical mockery of our faith has never been banned due to its content. Well after a quick search it was noticed by myself that it had been banned, only in 2012 for similar reasons. A local theater group called SummerStage was scheduled to put on a play at Lapham Peak State Park in Wisconsin, USA at the end of August and in September 2012 but the Department of Natural Resources banned it after protestation from a local Evangelical clergyman and others who voiced their concerns and outrage.

Indeed this may not be the same company that aimed to bring its mockery to British shores but it is the same play, with the same content, with the same aims of making a mockery of the infallible Word of God.

This makes it clear that the play in question, whether performed by its writers or other productions, has and will continue to cause distress and hurt amoung Evangelical Christians worldwide, and unfortuantely there will be a time when this hurt and distress will be repeated somewhere else in the world with not a single thought or consideration for Christians feelings.
